The Student Law Enforcement Association (SLEA) was established in 1998 as a way to promote the Environmental Law Enforcement Minor at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
Today, it has grown into an organization that is dedicated to educating the public about natural resources. Members are given many opportunities to gain hands-on experience and learn about natural resource law enforcement. Public relation skills are also acquired while serving the Portage County community and the State of Wisconsin.
The majority of SLEA members intend to pursue careers in natural resource law enforcement. We have guest speakers from other areas of law enforcement to give members an opportunity to hear about different aspects of law enforcement. Many past members are serving as Conservation Wardens, Rangers, Sheriff's Deputies, State Troopers, and Police Officers.
