
SLEA Travel Policy
The most efficient vehicle available and suitable for the outing should be taken at all times
Minimum of four members per car
Minimum two members for trucks pulling trailers or hauling equipment
Mandatory fuel fill up prior to departure with mandatory fill up upon return
Mileage must be recorded to receive reimbursements
All fuel receipts are needed for reimbursement
Most direct route will be taken
Non-SLEA related mileage (i.e. stopping at home) will be deducted from fuel reimbursements
Reimbursements will be on regular fuel only
Reimbursements will be limited to travel funding available
If travel funding is in short supply the officers will make the decision prior to the outing if reimbursements will be made
If reimbursements do not come from SLEA travel funds all members in the vehicle will split the cost of fuel.
Every vehicle within the SLEA caravan must remain with the SLEA caravan. Open communication shall be maintained as best as possible between first and last vehicle throughout travel.
Safety
In the event of bad weather the trip organizer will have the call on when and if travel will occur, with the understanding that member safety will always be the first consideration.
Exceptions
Expos will only be reimbursed for the trip there and back and only when a 2 day commitment is made or only a 1 day commitment is requested by the individual in charge
Any other exception must be okayed by the officers and cabinet members
Recreation vehicles will be reimbursed upon fuel type needs
