Activities
The Student Society of Arboriculture is an active organization on-campus that is constantly changing and improving in this dynamic industry. Our goals remain the same, nonetheless, and we continue to involve fellow students in the tree care industry. Feel free to browse some of our pictures.

Campus Pruning:
One of the ways we do this is through our campus pruning efforts. By maintaining the trees on campus, we provide hands-on training for members. This valuable experience will be useful in the workplace. More...

Arbor Day Tree Planting:
Every year, our organization plants a tree in observance of Arbor Day. This event has garnered attention from the media demonstrating the importance of trees and their care after planting. More...

Osprey Nests:
SSA works closely with the WDNR to install new and maintain existing osprey nest platforms throughout the state of Wisconsin in an effort to provide safe nest sites away from transmission lines.

Books and Educational Materials:
Books are often difficult for a student to buy because of their prohibitive cost, but through the SSA, many books are available at a significant discount. Also for sale are educational materials like slides, brochures and posters. Contact Jesse Neumann for more information.

Research:
Our branch has been asked to perform research and to gather information about the urban forest. This is an exciting new area for our branch that will hopefully further our educations and instill a desire to improve our industry.

Events:
As a part of the International Society of Arboriculture, Wisconsin Arborist Association and the National Arborist Association, we have plenty of events to travel to and participate in. More...
