Plant a TREE on Earth Day! April 22nd, 2008 Click HERE for instructions and sign up form! Who: You! What: Planting Trees on Earth Day Where: Here, on UWSP’s beautiful campus. Meet in front of Old Main. When: Tuesday April 22nd at 11:30AM, Earth Day 2008. How: It’s FREE! Students for Sustainable Communities, a UWSP student organization, is sponsoring the first ever Plant a Tree on Earth Day here at UWSP. But we need your help to plant them. The trees are from Sustainable Forestry near Stevens Point and have been purchased through funds from the UWSP Sustainability Reserve. We are looking at possible trips to Madison to visit their graduate program in planning. We are also planning to participate in the Wisconsin American Planning Association meeting this spring in Wisconsin Dells. Last but not least, we are looking to invite some nationally-known speakers to come to Point and discuss planning issues; last year we co-hosted James Howard Kunstler’s talk during Earth Week.
