Environmental & Sustainability Director: Emily Backes

The Student Government Association at UWSP is the sole student governance group in the UW System with an Environmental and Sustainability Issues Director on the Executive Board.  This directly reflects UWSP student commitment to making a change in our world - a change in the existential human impact that affects the world we live in and the world the next generation will inherit from us.  The prime function of the Environmental & Sustainability Issues Committee, chaired by the ESI Director, is to develop and promote environmentally-focused programs on campus.

Some of the committee's projects include:

• Student Bike Rental Program
• Online Student-Ride Board - share rides and help curb auto pollution
• U-Pass System - ride the bus for FREE with your student ID!
• Campus Cab - need a lift home?  Leave your car at home and let us pick you up!
• Online Book Exchange Program
• Environmental events, programs, & campaigns
• UWSP Arbor Day - plant a tree and help make the campus more 'green'
