Special Olympics Bowling Tournament

October 14, 2006

Back to SCEC main page     Back to SCEC photo albums

We showed up, "Ready to Work"  around 8:30 a.m..  Once we received our volunteer shirts and name tags, we were trained on how to set up and adjust the ramps that the athletes used to assist them in bowling. We missed the chance to sneak the rest of our group in this photo, as there were a few more who showed up after this was taken.  Thanks to EVERYONE who represented SCEC with smiles and positive attitudes!!!

Jillian and Derek lent an athlete their hands and

held the ramp while she controlled the her bowling ball.

Bowling balls had to be placed on the ramps for most athletes in the this level of the tournament.  The ramps would sometimes move and then needed to be repositioned within an inch of a certain floor board.  The front of the ramp was always positioned by the "middle dot" near the foul line.  Foul buzzers went off time and again, but usually when the volunteers stepped over the line! :-)
Kristie and her athlete waited in Anticipation to see if the ball was a strike!!!
