Some members from SCEC braved their souls and took the Plunge to benefit Special Olympics

Event: Polar Plunge at Rusty's Backyard in Stevens Point on February 2, 2008 Saloon

The event was a blast which raised over $41,000 for the Special Olympics of Wisconsin.  A total of 280 people took the plunge that day which included three of our own members of SCEC.  The members who braved the cold weather were Candace Ladwig, Hayley Popp, and Dan Quade.  Other participants took the plunge as well to help support such a great cause.  It was a great event with great excitement.

Overall in the state of Wisconsin, there were 10 different locations were plungers could take the plunge.  This year's 10 Polar Plunges were a huge success with 6228 Plungers raising over $1.1 million dollars for Special Olympics Wisconsin!
