was National Animal Shelter
Appreciation Week!
Here are the events we participated in to celebrate our animal shelters:
Supply drive for the Humane Society: Even if you did not get a chance to drop off some supplies during our drive, you can always take them directly to the Humane Society.
Bake sale for the Portage County Humane Society: This was a huge success. We raised just under $170 for the Portage County Humane Society. Great job to all the bakers and workers!
An animal shelter informational booth in the UC: There was a lot of information available about adoption at the Humane Society and spaying and neutering statistics.
POINTER PET PALS! The week before classes began, the club
hosted a few trips to the humane society for any interested students.
We hope to continue to provide the Humane Society with volunteers.
On Friday Oct 1st, 2004 the club traveled Madison to visit the School of Veterinary Medicine. We enjoyed lunch with a Vet student and a tour of the campus.
Last

obedience and training by Cree and his owner Dr. Plonsky.
Many people know this local canine behaviorist as a
psychology professor here on campus. The event was a huge success so keep
watch for another possible meeting with Dr. Plonsky.
