Hi all,
We will be working this Sunday off the Standing Rocks Rd. parking lot, not Tower Rd. I will be there starting at 1:00 p.m. for those who want to come early so they can get home for the Packer game. I will also be at the parking lot at 2:00 p.m. so everybody knows where to go. Due to complaints last weekend we are not able to use any gas powered tools such as weed whackers. Bring rakes, shovels, gloves, saws, water. etc. There is about two and a half miles off trail to build. If at all possible, please let me know if you plan on coming this weekend. We would never want to end up with not enough snacks at the end of a work day!
Last weekend, 13 people came out to work on the trails. That is the largest one day turn out we have had to date. Can we do better this weekend? Again, thanks to all of you who came out last weekend. PASTA is excited that the UWSP fire crew has agreed to help us build trail. There help, as well as everybody else's is greatly appreciated.
Scott was contacted by IMBA this week as was told that PASTA has been chosen to receive one of the IMBA / REI Trail Stewardship Tool Kits! The value of one of these tool kits is over $500.00.
Remember that Standing Rocks Park as well as all Portage County Parks are closed to all activity during the 9 day deer gun season. Depending on the weather we may try to do some work after the gun season.
As always, if you have any questions about anything concerning PASTA or the work we are doing, give me a call.
Thanks,
Jim Sniadajewski (715-341-9493)
