Hello everyone!

Sorry about being late on providing an update on the meeting from last week. So here is a write up of what was discussed...

Jerseys
Marc Marshall, and myself, are working to get the UWSP Cycling Club jerseys in time for the spring race season. We are looking at three companies as of right now: Voler, Verge, Hidden Bay Sports.

Designs - As of right now, we have a few designs thought up. We have 4 hand drawn designs, along with a short list of pre-made custom designs made by various other companies. If anyone knows of any Graphic Design majors out there that would be willing to do a favor for the Cycling Club, please let me know. I would like to have these hand drawn designs computer drawn into Adobe Illustrator. At least then we can have a much crisper view of what the jersey may look like. Not to mention whichever design we choose, we can hand that file in to the company and they will have very little work to do on it.

Prices - Prices vary from company to company, but for the most part the prices range from $50 - $70 per jersey. Besides the price per jersey, there are also order minimums that need to be met for each company. For Hidden Bay Sports, the minimum order is 12 jerseys, and for Voler and Verge the minimum order required is 25 jerseys. This is something we need to consider when ordering jerseys.

Order - If we want to have our jerseys by the spring road racing season, we need to have an order placed with a company by roughly Thanksgiving. We are hoping to have an order placed before then.

Races
Results - We discussed the previous race weekend that Marc Marshall and I attended in Ann Arbor, MI.

Seasons - The Mountain Bike season is now over, with the exception of Regionals next weekend, but no one has made any mention of going to Kentucky for those races. With that, UWSP is calling the MTB season done for 2007. While the spring road season is still a few months off, we discussed the possibility of sending a team to each race. For those who are unaware, the spring road season usually starts about the last week of February or the first week of March. Yes, there is still snow on the ground at the races.

Trail Rides
The Island; Standing Rocks; 9 Mile - Now that the mountain bike race season is over, we would like to try and get some rides together on the weekends to go out to these various mountain bike trails.

Volunteer Work - In order to get our name out in the community and possibly attract some local sponsors, it was briefly discussed that we could try and perform some volunteer work on at least one of the local trails. Namely, we could help clean up trails at the time of trail closings, and help get them ready for riding in the spring when they open back up.

Next meeting:
At our next meeting, we hope to discuss the above topics, along with the following new topics:
- Socks (to go along with our jerseys)
- Club Dues (in order to purchase jerseys and compete in races)
- Off Season Training

We are planning on having another meeting next week, either Wednesday or Thursday. An e-mail will be sent out to all club members, as well as notification on the website.
