Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another year of UWSP Cycling! For any new students out there, the UWSP Cycling Club is a club for bicycle riders of all disciplines. As a group, we get together and enjoy all the biking has to offer... usually group rides and competitions. Also, since this is a new year for UWSP Cycling, we have much to discuss for the club, including the Fall Mountain Bike Season and jerseys.
To start with, the Fall Mountain Bike Season has already started. It started a week ago with a race weekend at Mizzou. For those of you who are new to bike competition, UWSP is a part of the MWCCC (Mid-West Collegiate Cycling Conference). This is one of several conferences around the country that compete on a weekly basis, and for us, competitions take us all over the midwest. For those of you who have been interested in competing in mountain bike races, collegiate races are a great place to start. If you would like more information about this, contact Charlie Lukas (MTB Season Co-ordinator). He can answer any questions you may have about the collegiate mountain bike season. Jerseys are another topic we need to discuss desperately. For the past couple years, we have not had decent jerseys due to lack of interest in members of this club, along with high costs for low numbers of jerseys. Luckily, a company has been brought to our attention with reasonable prices. Hopefully this is something that we can follow-up on and actually get jerseys for ourselves this year.
As of right now, we don't have a scheduled meeting determined yet, but I am hoping that sometime this week we can have one to discuss everything mentioned above, and any other concerns that might be lingering out there.
Oh yes... and if any of you know anybody else who may be interested in joining the club, please let an officer know, or direct those people to the UWSP Cycling Club's website. We would gladly welcome any newcomers into the club.
