GTU – Geography Club Meeting Minutes

                                       March 9, 2006

                                       1:00 pm

                                       Present: Anna Hess (President), Jonathan Hanes (Vice President), Anders Huseth (Secretary)                                       Abby Gebert (Treasurer), and Dr. Larsen (Advisor).

1.     Hiking Trip at Devils Lake State Park is scheduled for April 29^th

2.     Spring Banquet and Awards presentation set for May 4^th at Michelle’s or The Sky Club. Details to follow at a later date.

3.     Spring Candy Sale dates set for after spring break. General mailing to parents of freshmen within residential living on March 27^th. Packing and Delivery is set for the 19^th and 20^th, all who wish to help officers with this aspect are more than welcome.

4.     Spring Canoe trip to the Black river or water permitting the eastern fork of the Black on April 8^th.

5.     Photo Contest was a great success. Ultimately there were 53 individual photos entered. Judging will take place sometime in the next week or so.

6.     Department open house to be held on April 23^rd for the community. Faculty members and volunteer students will conduct a Geocaching and orienteering exercise to familiarize community members to GPS navigation.
