GTU/ Geography Club Meeting Minutes  3-12-2007

                                    Officers Present: Brook Bonack (President), Nick Musson (Vice President), Alex Lawton (Treasurer),

Upcoming Events of the Semester:

• Photo Contest
  • Submit in an envelope, a photo (no larger than a 5x7) with your name and title of your photograph
  • Enclose in envelope, $1 per submission
  • Box to place submissions in the Geography office D332
  • Winner receives half of total dollar amount collected
  • Deadline for submissions extended to: Friday, March 16th
• Event with the Geography Club of UW-Lacrosse
  • Date: April 14th
  • Location: Cave of the Mounds
• Spring Candy Sale:
  • The letters have been sent out to the parents
  • April 6^th is the deadline
  • We plan on delivering the bags of candy on either April 16^th or 17th
• Hiking at Devil’s Lake
  • Date- Saturday, April 28^th (weather permitting)
• Manitowish River Canoe Trip
  • This will be an overnight trip (camping along the river)
  • About a 2 hour drive to the river
  • Weekend to be determined
• Overnight Hike
  • This was discussed as a possible trip later in semester
• Spring Banquet

·        Date: Thursday, May 3^rd at Sentry

·        It was voted “yes” to have 2 ($150) scholarships awarded that night

o       More info about the scholarships will be emailed

·        how much GTU will pay per plate needs to be determined

• Next meeting will be on Monday, April 2nd in room B347 at 10:00am
