| | Welcome to the Students For Freethought website at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Students For Freethought was formed in the spring semester of 2005 and is affiliated with Center For Inquiry, an international organization "dedicated to promoting and defending reason, science and freedom of inquiry in education, and to the enhancement of freethought, skepticism, secularism, humanism, philosophical naturalism, rationalism, and atheism on college and high school campuses throughout North America and around the world."
With a current member base of 45 to 60 students and 15-20 active members, we are dedicated to promoting the ideals of freethought, including reason, logic, humanism, and skepticism.
Our mission statement states:
"The purpose of our organization is to promote the ideals of freethought on and off campus and to educate/inform the public about what freethought is through discussions, presentation, forums, lectures, and debates."
If you are interested in the group, please contact us or come to one of our meetings on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm in room 233 of the Collins Classroom Center. Also, feel free to stop down at our office in the Dreyfus University Center in room 62A.
