Annual Fisheries Society
Alumni Banquet
The First UWSP Alumni Banquet was held in 2001 and since then it has become and annual "project" for the Fisheries Society. The Alumni Banquet is held for all past Fisheries and Limnology Majors from UWSP to come back to campus and reunite with old friends, past professors, and to meet new students entering the Fisheries Field. The Banquet also serves as a social event for current students so that freshman and those new to the Society can get to know one another. The Alumni Banquet is also the major fundraiser for the Society. We conduct a raffle at the end of the night, and the money collected goes to help fund our projects, traveling costs, and allows us to attend the State and National AFS Conferences.
Highlights of the Banquet include a buffet dinner with plenty of free beverages, a UWSP graduate keynote speaker, Virgil Beck doing a live painting of your favorite Wisconsin fish, and a huge raffle at the end of the night. We would like to encourage all past UWSP Fisheries and Limnology Graduates to come and have a night of fun and to relive your college days at UWSP.Dates: The 2009 Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday March 7th from 7p.m. - Midnight in the University Center's Alumni Room.
