Lake Joanis
Lake Joanis is located in Schmeeckle Reserve on Campus and was built by the Sentry Insurance Corporation. It's small size and close proximity make it an ideal lake for students to enjoy and the Fisheries Society to study. Both crib building and fyke net surveys have been done in order to improve the lake.
Lake Joanis fish surveys are typically been held in the Spring after our Spring Lake Project for the year. Crib building takes place during the winter when the ice is thick enough to support the cribs. When the ice goes out, they simply fall to the bottom.
