Course Description

The UWSP Spring 2010 Wildland Firefighter course meets current NWCG requirements for the federal standards of Wildland Firefighter Type II (FFT2), which includes S-130 Basic Wildland Fire Fighter, S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior, and L-180 Human Factors on the Fireline.  This course is presented in a 40 hour classroom and field work format. 

           
All course participants will need to successfully complete the IS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System prior to taking this course.  The address for the free online self study IS-100 course offered through FEMA is

Rooms have been reserved at the Ramada Inn under the UWSP Fire Crew for students requiring lodging during the course.  Please contact a UWSP Fire Crew officer for more information.
