Standing Rocks Open, Doubles Tourney and Work Days
This weekend is the Standing Rocks open. Standing rocks is an awesome

tourney. This tournament spans two weekends with intermediate competition
this coming weekend (4/19) and advanced and pro the following weekend (4/26-27).
In addition to the tournament, there will be a doubles round this Sunday at
Standing Rocks.
There is still time to lend a hand in getting ready for this event, and for
AceHoles, lending a hand translates to getting your fees for the tourney paid
for by the club. Mark Mozuch has been heading up the work effort with
Randy Shukar (Standing Rocks Course Pro) so to find out more info send Mark and
E-mail at mmozu878@uwsp.edu
A Recent e-mail from Randy Outlined when a hand can be lent.

Good luck at the tourney for all those who participate, and happy discing to the
rest as the weather gives us a chance to go throw.
Awesome Food, Weather, and Time Had By All Define the Second Annual Snow
Throw Massacre Saturday Feb 23rd 2008 was not so very long ago and the 2nd annual Snow Throw Massacre hosted by the UWSP Disc Golf Club AceHoles held that day afforded all of its nearly 100 participants a great chance to play some competitive winter disc golf and have a great time. This event saw players from multiple colleges and communities across the state. Thanks to all those who came and played and also to all those who donated food, stuff, and time to help this tournament exist.

Still undefeated, Disc Order, Course Work, and Snow
Throw The AceHoles have traveled nearly every weekend this semester to compete both individually and many times as a team. Not only have they seen a great amount of individual success, but also team success at every venue possible. The AceHoles are still undefeated in Team Play. The last Intercollegiate event of the year is our own Snow Throw Massacre to be held on Feb 9th. The Disc artwork is finalized and the order is in, we can expect it in less than three weeks. So for club members who haven't received a shirt or disc yet, you are entitled to a DX disc, or for a couple of extra bucks, you can get star or champion plastic. Coursework has begun on Treehaven, the first course to be installed on UWSP property. The weekend of Nov 17th is the first trip up to do work, but there is a lot of work to be done and this project is certainly ongoing. To get involved contact the club. In regards to the snow throw massacre, it is time to get started in all of the aspects of this tournament including promotion, donation solicitation, and general planning. To lend a hand in this effort, contact the club. --For information about anything mentioned in the news or any questions in general, contact the Disc Golf Club at discgolf@uwsp.edu |
