About Us "The UWSP College Democrats believe that the ultimate future of the United States lies in the effective participation of young people in the political process. This participation includes campaigning for candidates in whom we believe, as well as working in activities which will transform our beliefs into action. We are convinced the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College Democrats have a distinct political point of view to express, and all of our activities shall be directed toward the most effective expression of that point of view. In this mission, we call for full participation without regard for sex, race, ethnic origin, religion, physical handicap, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation." -Preamble to the UWSP College Democrats Constitution The UWSP College Democrats work to increase political awareness on the UWSP Campus, in the Stevens Point Community, and in the State of Wisconsin. We host social events, campaign for Democratic Candidates, train our members to work on campaigns, and work to inform the public and student body about the Democratic Party and the events of our world. Anyone is welcome to join the College Democrats, and our weekly meetings are open to the public. We go over current events within the organization, current news events, and hold a discussion period at the end of the meeting. Feel free to join us! Every Tuesday, 8pm in CCC 234. |
