a is for action Amnesty International's urgent action network provides an effective and rapid response to urgent situations involving prisoners of conscience, detainees, and other threatened individuals. functioning much like an emergency room staff in a hospital, members of the urgent action network in 90 countries compose and send telegrams, letters, e-mails, and faxes to many government officials who are in a position to ensure the safety and fair treatment of those whom amnesty seeks to protect. 25 letters and 1 postcard were sent after the involvement fair on Tuesday, 13 September, and many new names were added to our membership list. great job activists!
b is for business & human rights all companies have a direct responsibility to protect human rights. amnesty international believes that the business community also has a wider responsibility - moral and legal - to use its influence to promote respect for human rights.
c is for children as human beings, children are entitled to all the rights guaranteed by the universal declaration of human rights, but children also need special protection and care.
