Text Box: September 21st saw the 25th International Day of Peace as declared by the United Nations. An astounding 200 nations participated in over 3500 Peace Day events this year. An undoubted success, but what did you do?
The International Peace Day should not be an excuse to take one day to appreciate tolerance but a flash point for positive action. This day serves to remind us of our continuing efforts to culture communities of peace. These efforts need not be an overhauling of your way of life or attitude, but small changes, voicing ideas you’ve held inside or taking a moment to appreciate this world and its people.
Take today to make your peace.
September 21, the International Day of Peace, is a day on which
we reaffirm our commitment to this quest...
Text Box: It is meant to be a day of global cease-fire, when all countries and all people
stop all hostilities for the entire day.

And it is a day on which people around the world
observe a minute of silence at 12 noon local time.

Twenty-four hours is not a long time.
But it is... long enough to look over the barricades,
or through the barbed wire, to see if there is another path.
