About Us

The Women's Resource Center of Stevens Point, Wisconsin dedicates itself to educating and raising awareness on gender and women's issues.  We achieve this ongoing objective by sponsoring and facilitating programs and activities, providing relevant literature and working with an active group of devoted volunteers.

We have an extensive library containing books, magazines and information on a range of gender issues available to be checked out.  Our office provides a comfortable and relaxed center to gather information for classes, catch up on current developments in gender issues, or simply read for pleasure from our selection of fiction.

The Women's Resource Center is funded annually through the Student Government Association and is staffed by students.

“I really don't think life is about the I-could-have-beens. Life is only about the I-tried-to-do. I don't mind the failure but I can't imagine that I'd forgive myself if I didn't try.”
--Nikki Giovanni

"The important thing isn't the house. It's the ability to make it. You carry that in your brains and in your hands wherever you go...It's one thing to carry your life wherever you go. Another thing to always go looking for it somewhere else."
