her cancer, she knew that it was something to deal with right away.  Inaction will not solve anything.  We don’t know yet if the cancer will be       completely gone once her treatment ends, but we know that she is far better off       because she took control of her health, and I am glad to be there for support.

She has also been to the     doctor on numerous occasions for consultations and        check-ups.  There is also medication for her to take.  Though side effects are       different for everyone who gets radiation treatments, she is happy to report that her side effects are very mild,           consisting of some annoying itching and some tiredness.

My mother is glad that she paid close attention to her health.  Though a              mammogram is only            recommended once a year for women over forty, she had actually gone twice.  (She had her last year’s appointment very late.)  She also did not let fear stop her from taking     action.  When she learned of
