The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has sponsored extraordinary study/travel programs to the South Pacific since 1983. The semester in New Zealand offers you the opportunity to experience perhaps the most beautiful country in the world. Your host, the University of Canterbury is located in Christchurch, the largest city on New Zealand's South Island. The university offers world-class research, inspirational teaching, a vibrant campus environment and a student population from around the world.
Application Deadline: April 1 for the following year's spring semester and December 1 for the following fall. If you have missed the deadline, please check with the International Programs Office for information on potential availability.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors from all disciplines. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Preference is given to upperclassmen. Academic fit, maturity, motivation, and preparation are important.
Due to a generous offer from the University of Canterbury, UWSP Study Abroad is able to offer up to three scholarships ranging from NZ$1000 - NZ$2000 each semester! Inquire about availability and application processes with the Study Abroad Director.

The University of Canterbury offers a wide variety of courses and you are eligible to take any classes in their timetable for which you are eligible. BUT you will need to seek UWSP course approvals during your application process. See the "UWSP Course Equivalents" box above and contact the International Programs office for more information.
