Al S. Thompson, Jr. is returning to Wisconsin, having previously directed programs at UW-Platteville and UW-La Crosse for a total of 20 years. Named dean of Student Life and associate vice president for Student Affairs at Eastern Washington University in 2008, Thompson managed the operations, financial, and human resources of the campus' Student Life division, including the Office of Student Activities, Campus Recreation, Residential Life, and Student Leadership.
While at UW-La Crosse from 1997-2008, he was the assistant to the chancellor for Affirmative Action and Diversity and a member of the graduate faculty. He worked at UW-Platteville from 1988 to 1997, serving as the assistant to the chancellor for Minority Affairs, and director of Multicultural Services and the Ethnic Studies program. Thompson also coordinated minority studies programs and served as a residence hall director at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
He and his wife, Telitha, have two children, Megan and Aaron. He enjoys playing golf and basketball, and being involved in service organizations such as Rotary and the United Way. Check out this video to see Al enjoying UWSP ROTC Bring a Faculty to PT day!

John is a native of Stevens Point and attended grade school and high school here. He graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 1975 and joins his three siblings as Point alums. He began his career at UWSP as the Student Union Business Manager in February, 1976. Following that stint he served as Director of Student Life Business Operations in 1980 and became Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Life (now Student Affairs) in the late 80's until present.
John and his wife Pat, who is a Student Status Examiner in the Registration Office at UWSP, have three children, Brandon, Courtney, and Caitlin and two grandsons. The two older children are also UWSP alums and the youngest is at UW-Madison. John enjoys golf, traveling, walking, and spending time with his grandkids.
Jackie Christianson

Jackie has worked on campus since 2001, beginning her position in Student Affairs in June 2005. Her responsibilities include office administration and support for the Vice Chancellor's Office, working with academic staff personnel materials, managing two UWSP academic honor societies, and assisting Student Affairs directors and other staff members.
Jackie and her husband, Doug, live in Custer and have two children. Their son is a partner in a law firm in Menomonie, WI, and their daughter is an aerospace engineer in Rockford, IL. Jackie enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking.
