Old Business

The meeting with the Grounds Crew regarding the snow plowing issue was productive.  It will be an on-going process.

If there are any problems with the use of computers in computer labs, they will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Gerry has asked 4 WSEU members to be on the bleacher crew committee.

Gerry remarked that the political material on the bulletin boards was political information material – not campaign material.  However, in the spirit of cooperation it was removed anyway.

Bob checked on the College Days for Kids issue and he understood that Classified staff do not have to take vacation if they work for that program.  Gerry asked about “double dipping.”  Staff would get a stipend from the College Days program plus get their normal pay.  Bob will do some more checking into this issue.

New Business

JoAnne brought up the non regular work hour call in list.  Protective Services students are responsible for calling in people during non regular work hours.  JoAnne should have been called in the weekend of November 6, but was not.  There was discussion about the call in list and who should be doing the calling.  Emergency call ins are not covered by Union contract.  Each custodian is asked if they want to be on the emergency call in list.  The list is not by seniority.  There are many types of emergencies, not just Custodial, so Protective Services seemed to be the logical place for the calls.  Mike Zsido has talked to Bill Rowe about the list and it has been explained to the Protective Services students doing the calling.

Rob asked about several committees that were a result of the Working Together Committee, i.e. the Alternative Discipline Committee, the Employee Recognition Committee and the Sick Leave Policy Committee.  None of them are actively meeting.  When issues arise, there is a format/procedure to follow.

Gerry asked about news articles for Classified retirees.  News Service would be the office to contact.

Meeting adjourned at 3:05 p.m.

Happy Holidays!!
