Parent/Participant Workshops

Students, parents and guardians are invited every winter and spring to attend college planning workshops conducted near target schools and/or at UW-Stevens Point.  The goal of the parent/participant workshops is to acclimate parents and guardians to the college planning process and to share information on new program policies and/or upcoming events.  Parents are also able to offer feedback and make suggestions to Upward Bound staff on program services as well as rules and regulations.  The topics covered at the winter parent/participant workshop include college admission requirements, college costs and financial aid while the spring workshop’s topics center on college prep course selection, target school advocacy and plans for the upcoming summer session and the summer plans of students who will not be attending the summer session.
