HIGHER EDUCATION AS HUMANITARIAN AID

Higher Education as Humanitarian Aid attains and secures basic human rights (citizenship and/or travel documents) by partnering non-governmental organizations with American universities that agree to grant scholarships to stateless individuals.

The program challenges governments to first acknowledge the scholarship recipient and then authorize their freedom of movement, enabling them to study at an institution of higher education within the United States.

With permission granted and rights gained, the scholarship recipient begins their academic studies abroad, exemplifying access to education and the hope of freedom to those with similar backgrounds.

Upon the completion of their chosen degree, the recipient applies the knowledge gained from higher education in the fight against statelessness and modern slavery within their country of origin.
