When is Winter Commencement 2009?
Winter Commencement 2009 will be
on Saturday, Dec. 19. There will be two ceremonies, both in
the Quandt Fieldhouse:
* 10 a.m.
Candidates for associates degrees as
well as both bachelor's and master's degrees from the colleges of
Letters and Science and Natural Resources.
* 1 p.m.
Candidates for both bachelor's and master's degrees from the
colleges of Professional Studies and Fine Arts and Communication.

Where is the Quandt
Fieldhouse/Multi Activity Center?
The Quandt
Fieldhouse is located inside the Health
Enhancement Center on Fourth Avenue. The fieldhouse entrance is
located just across from the center's main entrance on Fourth Ave.
Graduates will be asked to line up inside the Multi Activity Center
(indoor track) that is also inside the Health Enhancement Center,
down the left hall from the main entrance.

Do I have to RSVP?

Where can I buy announcements?
Generic announcements are
available
four weeks prior to graduation at the
University Store.

When will the University Bookstore be open on Commencement Day?
The bookstore
will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19.

6. How many tickets does
each graduate get?
Guest seating in the Quandt Fieldhouse is limited. Graduates will be
allotted seven guest tickets to the indoor
ceremonies.
7. When/Where do I get tickets?
Tickets will need to be reserved and claimed and will be available
December 7-11 at the
UWSP Information and Ticket Center in the Dreyfus University Center.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 9
p.m. on weekends. A student ID is required. Additional tickets will
be available December 10-11 if extras remain. If you
are unable to pick up your tickets by December 11, please call the
UWSP Information and Ticket Office at 715-346-4100 or 800-838-3378
to reserve them.
If you have a guest with special seating needs,
e.g. wheelchair, walker, etc., please specify when picking up your
tickets. Two of your seven tickets can be used to seat guests with special
needs.

Where/When do they distribute
caps, gowns and honor cords?
Caps, gowns,
tassels, master's hoods and honor cords are available for purchase at the University
Store in the Dreyfus University Center from December
7-11.
They will be distributed at the back of the University Store.
Hours of distribution are:
Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

If you are unable to come pick up your cap and gown
during the hours of distribution, you may mail order your cap and gown
package from December 7-11 and it will be shipped. Please call the University Store, 715-346-3431,
between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for
mail order and price information.

Where do I park?
All the
parking lots will be open. (please see the

How long will the program be?
Each ceremony will last approximately 1 to 2 hours.

Who gets to wear honor cords?
Cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude are
undergraduate honor designations. Master's degree candidates do
not graduate with honors regardless of their grade point average,
and do not wear an honor cord. In addition, those who traveled
abroad with UWSP International Programs wear sashes that represent
the country where they studied.

Can I order a professional picture
of my graduate?
A professional photographer will take
each graduate’s picture as they cross the stage. Proofs will be
emailed to your student address and mailed to your home address with
information for purchasing prints. Guests are asked to refrain from
leaving their seats to take photographs.

Hey…where is my diploma?!
At your commencement ceremony, you will receive a diploma
cover with a message from the UWSP Alumni Association. Diplomas will
be mailed to your home address approximately 8 to 10 weeks after the
end of the semester.
If
you need verification of your degree before that time, contact the
Registration and Records Office, 715-346-4301.
Our diplomas are 8" x 10". It will
state your name, your degree (not your majors) and the date you
graduated.

When is Spring Commencement 2010?
For all you early planners, Spring Commencement 2010 will take
place on Saturday, May 15.
