Continuing Education - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Continuing Education Web Registration?
Instead of submitting a mail-in registration form, students will be able to register from wherever they have access to a computer that is connected to the Internet, whether in Stevens Point or in another city, state, or country.

Will I be able to register on any computer?
You will be able to access the registration system from any computer that has Internet access. However, we recommend that the browser on the computer have Internet Explorer 5.0 and above, or Netscape 5.0 and above.

Will I be able to get help if I have problems registering on the web?
If you have any questions during the registration process, you can always email uwspce@uwsp.edu or call the Continuing Education Office at 1- 800 898-9472. Office Hours are Mon.-Fri. 8AM - 4:30 PM.

What if I don’t know my Student ID Number?
If you can’t logon or you forgot your student ID number, please contact the Continuing Education Office at (715) 346-3838 or 1-800-898-9472 for assistance.

Will all students be able to register for Continuing Education courses on the web?
Undergraduate and graduate students that have a UWSP ID number will be able to register for Continuing Education courses on the web. Students registering for Continuing Education courses through KEEP, Leaf, GET, Costar, or Trees for Tomorrow WILL NOT be able to use the web registration system because the tuition for these programs are paid for by a 3rd party. Students interested in Continuing Education courses through KEEP , Leaf, GET, Costar or Trees for Tomorrow should contact the Continuing Education Office at 1-800-898-9472 for registration instructions.

Who can register using the web?
Continuing Students (enrolled in a current or previous term)
Returning Students (earned credit from UWSP in a previous term but NOT currently enrolled)
New Students: (Person who has never made an application and/or enrolled at UWSP will have access to web registration AFTER their application form is processed.
Registration instructions for new students are available at http://www.uwsp.edu/conted/credit/schedule/register.asp Your UWSP student ID number will be sent to you via email upon the processing of your application.

Will there still be appointment times for registering for Continuing Education courses?
The Continuing Education web registration system begins soon after the web registration for on-campus courses end. For fall and summer Continuing Education web registration, this process will begin in mid-May and for Winterim and spring Continuing Education web registration the process will begin in mid-December. You will be able to register anytime on or after these appointment dates provided you don’t have any “holds”. Official registration dates will be posted on the Continuing Education website at: http://www.uwsp.edu/conted/

Will I be able to register on the web whenever I want?
You cab access the system 24/7, but occasional the system will be down for required maintenance. The Continuing Education web registration system begins soon after the web registration for on-campus courses end. Online Continuing Education registration for fall and summer courses will begin in mid-May. Online registration for Winterim and spring courses will begin in mid-December. You will be able to register anytime on or after these appointment dates provided you don’t have any “holds”. What is a Hold?
A hold is an obligation that must be met before you can register. For example, if you have an outstanding past due balance on your account, you will have a “hold” that must be removed before you will be able to register. All holds must be cleared with the appropriate person or office before you register.

How will I access the web registration system?
You will be able to access the system through the Continuing Education website http://www.uwsp.edu/conted/ or through the Continuing Education link under the “Academics Tab” on myPoint at http://my.uwsp.edu. You may want to “bookmark” one or both of these websites for quick access to the web registration screen. To access the system, you will need to have a UWSP ID Number. If this is your first time applying for a UWSP Continuing Education course, you will need to complete an application form first: http://www.uwsp.edu/conted/credit/schedule/register.asp

Will I be able to drop and add classes on the web?
Yes, once you have registered, you will be able to return to the web to drop and add classes up until certain deadlines. If you will be withdrawing from school after you registered, you will need to contact the Continuing Education Office at 1-800-898-9472 to officially withdrawal.

Do I have to register on the web?
No, we are not requiring students to register on the web. You can still choose to register in person in the Continuing Education office or by completing the mail-in registration form http://www.uwsp.edu/conted/credit/schedule/register.asp Our goal is that most students will elect the convenience of registering on the web at a location convenient to them rather than going through the mail-in registration system or having to visit campus to register.
