The university logo consists of a drawing of the cupola and several roof lines from the top of the Old Main building. The drawing is enclosed in three concentric circles. Between the innermost and second circles the words UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN in uppercase letters curve around the top and the words STEVENS POINT in uppercase letters curve around the bottom. The outermost circle is slightly heavier than the other two circles.

The official UWSP logo and its reverse image may be downloaded from the Web at: www.uwsp.edu/publications/logo.html. Hard copy is available from the publications coordinator. Do not scan or photocopy a previously printed logo for use as an “original.”
The preferred “reverse” logo, as printed here, is a hybrid. Note that it is not a full reverse of the “positive” logo.

Normally the logo prints in one solid, dark color.

• The logo may not be reproportioned, rotated, or altered (Fig. 4 ).
• The year 1894 is not part of the logo and may not appear within it
(Fig. 5).
• Do not use the logo as a part of a pattern or larger image that might diminish its visual strength (Fig. 6, Fig. 11).
• Do not incorporate the logo into other logos or service marks
(Fig. 7, Fig. 8).
• Do not enclose the logo within another shape or graphic
(Fig. 8, Fig. 9).
• Background colors, graphics, screens, clouds, photos, trees, etc. may not be used inside the logo (Fig. 10).
• Animation of the logo is not allowed.
• The logo can vary in size, but should not be reduced to less than 5/8 inch in diameter (Fig. 12).

• Appropriate two-color logos appear here. If you are not using purple and gold, the logo must print in one color only, preferably the darkest of the colors in your publication. (Fig. 13)
• The logo may be used as a very light screen to serve as a “watermark” so long as the logo is not altered and is identifiable. It should not interfere with the readability of the material presented over it. (Fig. 14)
• Please check with the publications coordinator beforehand if you want a logo in three or more colors or if you intend to apply a multicolor logo to a transparent surface (e.g., a decal on glass).
• The logo may be foil stamped, engraved, embossed, or blind embossed.
• Special effects such as holograms or 3-D must consider the issues of legibility and appropriateness. Special effects should be reviewed by the Web master and/or telecommunications designer.

In Summary
The logo should be used conspicuously on all university publications and electronic or printed materials, preferably on the front cover or panel. For all publications (including electronic) that represent the university and are intended for external audiences, the logo must appear on either the front or back cover. If two distinct logos must be used in the same publication, they should be sized to appear to have equal visual weight.
Use the logo, as shown in this guide, in its entirety, not separated into component parts, altered in proportion, printed in color combinations other than those outlined in this guide, screened or modified.
Always use the logo in its official format for print, electronic or Web publications. Do not animate or trivialize the logo.

Derivative renditions: It is vitally important that the integrity of design and fidelity of the color palette for the logo remain intact in order to maintain a consistent visual identity for UWSP. Therefore, no painting, sketch, sculpture, rendering, drawing or other artistic interpretation or representation of the logo may be undertaken or commissioned to officially represent UWSP.
