Homework - Graphing

DIRECTIONS: According to the numerous rules discussed in class (e.g., each graph goes on a separate page), draw each of the following graphs. You must do this using graph paper, and then, if you are able, do them again using MS Excel. Note that doing the graph in Excel is not required and will not get you any extra credit, but will be worth your while nonetheless.

  1. A bar graph of fictitious data which is measured on a categorical scale.

  2. A bar graph of fictitious data which is measured on a ordinal scale.

  3. Histogram for the data in Question 2 of the homework on frequency distributions.

  4. Frequency polygon for data in Question 3 of the homework on frequency distributions. (Be careful to use the correct data to graph your points.)

  5. Bar graph for data in Question 2 of the homework on research design. Note that you will need to make up some data here (i.e., the individual scores). Assume there are 5 subjects per group.

  6. When employing nominal or ordinal data, the most appropriate graph is
    a. bar graph
    b. histogram
    c. frequency polygon
    d. ojive
