Revised to keep up with the current edition of the APA manual. Condensed forms of this document have been published by K. Ackley in her edited book Perspectives on Contemporary Issues: Readings Across the Discipline in two editions.

• 2003. At the request of Dogtra (a California company that makes electronic collars for dog training), I wrote a Technical Report on the use the "paging" feature (vibrotactile stimulation) of electronic collars for dog training.
• 2000-2002. Worked with Harcourt Direct (now Thomson Education Direct) as a Consultant and Subject Matter Expert in developing a correspondence course for Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructors. I developed a detailed outline of the curriculum reviewed the work of writers (commissioned by the company) who created the "chapters" or study units in the curriculum.

• Spring 1989 - Summer 1991. Statistical Consultant for a project involving wellness in rural elderly populations of Wisconsin. This project was funded by a Kellogg Foundation grant to North Central Technical College in Wausua.
• Spring 1987. Statistical Consultant and Expert Witness for the Wausau, WI Public Defender. Designed, managed, and analyzed a public opinion survey of Marathon County residents. Students in my Advanced Experimental Psychology class that I was teaching at the time (about 6-8) served as paid research assistants for this project.

Imaging - I became interested in imaging in 1989 when I began using a computer/projector to present my lectures. I scanned images and learned how to make them look good on the computer screen.. I took an interest in photography in 2001 with the goal of documenting canine behavior. Somewhere along the way, I started photographing insects. The site also contains several articles about macrophotography. The most popular of the articles has been republished in five languages in addition to English.

• Spring, 2005. UW System Alcohol & Other Drug Use Survey: Data for Stevens Point from summer 2004. Analyzed the data and wrote a Technical Report for the Student Health Promotion Office at UWSP. The data set consisted of about 1000 students.
• Spring 1986 - 2006. Member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Served as the Chair from 1996-1999.
• Summer 1999. Taught faculty workshops in computer usage (MS PowerPoint, imaging with PaintShop Pro, & working from home via the internet).

Community Service:
• Fall 2001 - present. Dog Training Class Instructor at Camp Bandy Pet Resort. Fall 1997 - 1999. Dog Training Class Instructor for the Timber Ridge Dog Training Club (nonprofit).
• Summer 1994 - 2006. Serve as a Field Trainer/Presenter for the national nonprofit organization PAWS With A Cause. PAWS trains assistance dogs, such as those that help mobility impaired, hard of hearing, and deaf individuals.
• 1993 - present. Serve as a K9 Behavioral Consultant to members of the community needing assistance with dog behavior problems.
• Fall 1985 - present. Established and advise the Budokai Karate Club on campus. The participants include students, community members, and faculty/staff. Students could obtain General Physical Education credit (GPE199) for participating. The club maintained a membership of about 10-30.
