An independent major was established in the Department of Psychology in 1964.
The department typically has about 15 faculty members, 350 majors & 250 minors.

Biofeedback, Videotaping, Psychophysiology, Cognition, Developmental Psychopathology, Memory, Pain, Social Analysis, Perception, Animal & others.
The Psychology Department has a number of purposes. These include:
Functioning as a component of the liberal arts foundation of the university.
Providing a quality undergraduate program providing
students with baccalaureate level career training, as well as preparation
for graduate school.
Providing service courses for other university programs that require a foundation in behavioral science.
