  • Chairperson: Dr. P. Sudevan
  • An independent major was established in the Department of Psychology in 1964.
  • The department typically has about 15 faculty members, 350 majors & 250 minors.
  • There are several laboratories, including:
    Biofeedback, Videotaping, Psychophysiology, Cognition, Developmental Psychopathology, Memory, Pain, Social Analysis, Perception, Animal & others.
  • The Psychology Department has a number of purposes. These include:
    1. Functioning as a component of the liberal arts foundation of the university.
    2. Providing a quality undergraduate program providing students with baccalaureate level career training, as well as preparation for graduate school.
    3. Providing service courses for other university programs that require a foundation in behavioral science.
