Understanding Statistics in SPSS

This online source is designed to accompany my undergraduate statistics course. It includes instructions on how to obtain basic statistical output using SPSS, how to interpret the output, the link between hand calculation formulas and SPSS output, and basic statistical tables. The materials in this section are intented to facilitate the connection between standard introductory statistics concepts and their implementation in SPSS. It is a rather large project and the most current draft of the whole document is available here:

However, please note that this is a work in progress and that not all portions are completed or currently available. They will be uploaded and revised periodically, so please stop back and refresh the page each time! In order to facilitate your use of the materials, I offer the separate sections below:

PsychStatManual: Manuals for Univariate and Multivariate Statistics

These manuals were created for clarification of the basic graduate-level concepts and as a refresher for those who may have long since forgotten those basics. Note, most importantly, that these guides do not include lengthy examples of the applications, but do include the theories, formulae, and assumptions inherent to univariate and multivariate techniques. Multiple choice quizzes on various topics are also available. [Please note that this is no longer under development.]
