Human Subject Pool Resources
This page is designed to offer faculty and student researchers the necessary resources they need to use the Human Subject Pool at UWSP.
Guidelines for Use of the Human Subject Pool
The Department of Psychology human subject pool consists of all students enrolled in Psychology 110: Introduction to Psychology. Students in that course can complete a research requirement by either: a) serving as a participant in two hours of psychological research (hence, making them members of the Human subject Pool), or 2) completing a review of a psychology journal article (which excludes them from the Human Subject Pool. No other students are considered part of the Human Subject Pool.
Policies Governing the Use of the Human Subject Pool: This document is an overview of the rules, policies, and procedures governing the use the of the Department of Psychology Human Subject Pool. All researchers are expected to demonstrate familiarity with these policies prior to gaining access to the pool.
The above document simply outlines the important rules and guidelines. In order to facilitate your use of the pool, I offer the additional documents below:

Important Dates for Subject Pool Users
The subject pool is not typically available for use until the 3rd or 4th week of the semester. It is necessary for the initial add/drop period to be over before the database can be finalized properly. All psychology faculty members will receive an email when the pool is open for use.
Once the pool is open, researchers may schedule as many timeslots as they need. Pool use is generally on a first-come-first-served basis. That is, no restrictions are typically placed on the number of participants you may draw from the pool.
Importantly, the last day to collect data from participants is the last day of classes for the semester. No experiments shall be posted for finals week or later!
