Lloyd Beck Award
Lloyd Beck received his Doctorate in the field of psychology from Brown University in 1945. He began working for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as a professor in 1964 and continued for another 18 years. He was the first Chairman of the Psychology Department following the split of the Psychology and Philosophy departments. In 1995, the University dedicated the Lloyd Beck Psychophysiology and Biofeedback Laboratory in the Psychology Department. The Lloyd Beck Award for Academic Excellence in Psychology has been offered since 1983 and is given to the Junior Psychology Major with the highest GPA in Psychology.
