UWSP PROTECTIVE SERVICES JURISDICION

University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Protective Services Police Officers have the statutory authority and responsibility to investigate violations of state criminal and traffic laws, as well as rules of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents. The department's  jurisdictional authority is limited to all property owned by or under the control of UW Stevens Point, including a portion of any public road or highway passing through and immediately adjacent to it. Protective Services is the agency of record and is responsible for the investigation of all criminal complaints originating on campus.

 

The authority, responsibility, and required training of Protective Services Police Officers is the same as all other police officers in the State of Wisconsin. All Protective Services Police Officers are certified by the Wisconsin Department of Justice and complete continual ongoing training to maintain this certification.
