High Volume Digital Publishing

We upgraded our high volume digital printing system to a 3 Lanier LD110 printers/copiers. These machines run at 110 copies per minute (single sided 8.5x11" pages), and can be run in tandem which in effect lets us run at 330 impressions per minute. We can send documents to the Micropress from all of our Windows and Macintosh computers. The Micropress front end system boosts the scanning of hard copies. This new front end system gives us both speed and incredible ease of editing along with mail merge capabilities for addressing letters and post cards.

In addition, any job can be stored on our digital storage system. No more slow tape back ups. If changes are needed for additional prints, they can be made on the digital master, before additional copies are printed in no time. No need to resubmit new hard copies for changes or photo additions. Scanning of photos into the Micropress system gives us incredible control over cropping, resizing, raffle ticket numbering and reversing the image and laying it into a document.

We will be moving more toward high volume color within the next 6 months. We expext to be printing about 100,000 color impressions per month by spring 2008 on a regular basis.
