- Professor Blakeman is finishing on a book on federalism
and the Supreme Court, co-authored with Professor Chris
Banks of Kent State University and under contract with
Rowman & Littlefield. He is also working on other projects
that focus on federal district courts and religious liberty,
and courts and sports.

About
Prof. Blakeman grew up in southeastern
Kentucky in the heart of Appalachia. While he's lost his
hillbilly twang, he retains his Alvin York outlook on life.
Prof. Blakeman loves to fish and from time to time tries to
advise and coach the
UWSP Men's Rugby Club. He's a
former rugby player
himself, having played for Wake Forest Univ., Univ. of
Glasgow, Hampstead (North London), and the
infamous Waco
Geezers (Waco, Texas). He advised and coached the
Men's Rugby Club at Baylor
University, and helped coach them to the USA Rugby
Collegiate Division II National Championship in 2001.
Blakeman is an IRB certified rugby referee with degenerating
eyesight. He previously taught at Baylor University in Waco,
Texas, and has been at UWSP since 2003.
