PARKING INFORMATION
Wisconsin Association of Physics Teachers
2001 Annual Meeting
University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
October 26 - 27, 2001
The only places you will be able to park your car on campus on Friday without getting
ticketed or towed are the metered parking
lots (click here for map). Please bring change with which to
feed the parking meters! The meters charge 40 cents per hour.
The metered lots are Lots F, R, V, X, and Z. Use Lot X if
possible. It is the largest of the metered lots and is the
closest to both the Science Building (where the workshops will take place) and
the College of Natural Resources building (where the papers will be presented). The entrance to Lot
X is at the intersection of Fremont Street and Stanley Street.
Parking spaces in the metered lots are fairly plentiful on Friday
afternoon. However, on Friday morning, these lots may be full, particularly
between 9 a.m. and noon. If you cannot find a metered
parking space, your best bet is to find curbside parking on the city streets
surrounding the campus, then move your car into a metered lot when space becomes
available.
Parking in Lot X is free on Saturday (don't feed the meter!) and there
should be an ample supply of available parking spaces. (Parking in Lot X
actually becomes free of charge beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, but no cars
are allowed to be parked there between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.)
