about myself

I was born in SINGAPORE, where I grew up and went to school.  I married my wife,  AGNES, in 1996, and our son, LUCAS, was born in 1997.  My interests include film, theater, classical music, food, and travel, and my favorite sport is soccer.

I had the privilege of going to college on 3 different continents:

• B.A. (First Class Honors) in Philosophy, University of Melbourne, Australia (1984)
• M.A. in Philosophy, National University of Singapore, Singapore (1987)
• Ph.D. in Philosophy, Stanford University, USA (1992)

places where I work

I taught in the Department of Philosophy at the National University of Singapore after I completed graduate school at Stanford.  In August 2001, I joined the Department of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
