CALL FOR PAPERS

 

 

Group Session at the Central Division Meeting of the APA in Chicago (April 2008)

 

Theme: DESIRE AND MORALITY

 

You are invited to submit a paper that addresses the role and relevance of desire in ethics.  Possible paper topics include (but not limited to) concepts of desire, moral motivation, desire as reasons for action, desire and the good, character and virtue, conflicts of desire, self-interest and altruism.

 

Note: The Society for Philosophy in the Contemporary World does not subscribe to any particular approach or school of philosophy.  Any style of philosophy is welcome.

 

Deadline for submission of either a paper of up to 3,000 words, or a detailed abstract of 500 words: October 31, 2007 (postmark or e-mail)

 

Decisions on paper acceptance will be sent out by December 1, 2007.  Details of the group session will be printed in the conference program in the Proceedings of the American Philosophical Association.
