Civil Service Exams

 

The following is a list of Civil Service exams scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2008, for classifications used on this campus:

  • Custodial Services Supervisor (statewide) – job code 0200646

  • Facilities Maintenance Specialist and Facilities Maintenance Specialist - Advanced (statewide) - job code 0604037

  • Facilities Repair Worker and Facilities Repair Worker – Advanced (statewide) – job code 0603769

  • Office Support (statewide) – job code 0804455

Interested persons must complete the "Application for State Employment" and take it along to the exam site.  (A separate application is needed for each exam taken.)  The exams begin at 8:30 a.m. and a completed state application is needed.  The exam center closest to Stevens Point is the Wisconsin Rapids.  The December exams will NOT be given in Wausau.  For more information, contact Janelle Ewen at 346-4419.

 

 

Engineering Specialist Mgmt

UWSP is accepting applications for an Engineering Specialist-Management vacancy in Facility Services. This position reports to the Director of Facility Services. Click here for the position description.

Knowledge of the controls, methods, materials and equipment used by plant operators in the daily maintenance and operation of steam generating boilers. Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used by the MEP trades (plumbers, electricians, etc.) and maintenance crafts (carpenters, welders, masons, etc.) in the construction, maintenance and remodeling of physical facilities. Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used by HVAC professionals in the construction, maintenance and remodeling of physical facilities. General understanding of building codes, researching specific details required in completing code compliant repairs and projects. Proven management ability to direct and supervise specialized staff, provide adequate support and demonstrate sound judgment and leadership.

Eight years of progressive experience in facilities management operations or construction industry. Graduation from an accredited College or University with a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. A Wisconsin PE or have equivalent professional training and practical experience so as to be deemed an architect or engineer as defined by the Department of Regulation and Licensing.

Limited-Term Employment

UWSP is accepting applications for limited-term employment (LTE) that may occur anywhere on campus during the next six to twelve months. Most LTE positions are temporary, part-time positions with very limited benefits. Hourly pay rates normally range from $8.00 to $10.00 per hour depending on the responsibilities of the job. Knowledge of word processing software is required for most clerical positions. Applications are kept on file for approximately one year.
