Diane was a four-year letter winner for the Pointers from 2001-05 and was a member of the 2002 national championship team.

Gilbert joined the Pointers staff after spending two seasons as the graduate assistant coach at Edgewood College in Madison. While at Edgewood, Gilbert worked primarily with guard development and served as recruiting coordinator for the Eagles. In her two seasons with the Eagles, the team finished 36-18 overall, 27-8 in the Northern Athletics Conference, advancing to the league’s championship game in 2008.

Prior to coaching at Edgewood, Gilbert served as a student assistant with the Pointers during the 2005-06 season. After graduation from UWSP, Gilbert served as the director of new program development at the Green County Family YMCA in Monroe.

Coach Gilbert received a bachelor of science in health promotion and wellness with a minor in coaching in 2006 from UW-Stevens Point. As a student, she was a 2004 recipient of the University Leadership Award, a 2005 recipient of the Pointer Leadership Award for women’s basketball, and the 2006 UWSP Chancellor Senior Leadership Award.

Gilbert is originally from Monroe, where she was a two time All-Badger Conference selection, a member of back to back Badger Conference Championship teams, and a member of the 2000 Division II State Runner Up team. She received her master’s in education from Edgewood College in May 2009. Along with coaching responsibilities Gilbert is also a lecturer in the School of Physical Education & Athletic Training at UW-Stevens Point.
