Parking for visits and Viewpoint Days is arranged through the Admissions Office.  Orientation parking is arranged through the New Student Office.
Signs (as pictured to the right) are located at the entrance to all campus lots and explain the general regulations for that lot.

• Within the lots, special areas (such as loading zones, fire zones, reserved stalls, and some no parking areas) are also signed or otherwise marked.

• Following the signs is the easiest way to avoid  a citation.

Availability of Visitor/Guest Parking

• Parking on the UW-Stevens Point campus is restricted to permit holders from 2am-7pm, Monday through Friday, except in metered areas. For that reason, it is recommended that visitors/guests use metered areas. Meter information is below.

 

• There is limited parking available on the city streets, however, it is regulated by the Stevens Point Police Department, NOT the university. Signs on the streets indicate specific regulations and vary by location. All questions should be directed to the Stevens Point Police Department. There is NO overnight parking on the city streets.

University Meters (See Map for Locations)

• Meters on the UWSP campus are $0.50 per hour ($0.25 for 1/2 hour) and vary by the maximum time offered (see specific lots below). 

• Meters are enforced from 6am-7pm, Monday through Friday. Meters are open from 7pm-2am, Monday through Friday & all day Saturday and Sunday. Metered areas are closed from 2am-6am, Monday through Friday, this means no overnight parking.

 

Lot X is on the corner of Stanley St. and Fremont St. and has 338 meters that can be prepaid for up to 12 hours. This lot is highly recommended for visitors/guests that will be on campus for an extended period.

Lot F is on Reserve St., just north of 4th Ave., on the east side of the Health Enhancement Center. There are 40 meters that can be prepaid for up to 2 hours.

Lot F-West is on the corner of 4th Ave. and Isadore St., on the west side of the Health Enhancement Center. There are 41 meters that can be prepaid for up to 2 hours.

Lot R is along Portage St., between Phillips St. and Reserve St. There are 60 meters across from the University Center and 6 meters along Portage St. that can be prepaid for up to 4 hours.

Lot Z is on the corner of Reserve St. and High St. (next to the University Center) and has 37 meters that can be prepaid for up to 2 hours.

Lot V is along Isadore St., north of 4th Ave. There are 20 meters that can be prepaid for up to 4 hours.

Lot G is located along Illinois Ave., behind the Allen Center. There are 11 meters that can be prepaid for up to 2 hours.

Disabled Parking

• There are reserved stalls throughout the university parking lots for persons with disabilities. Vehicles using these stalls ,MUST either display a state-issued disabled hangtag or have disabled plates. These vehicles can also park at meters WITHOUT plugging the meter. Disabled hangtags and plates are not honored in permit areas without a valid UWSP permit.

 

Guests of Students

• Students should instruct guests to use metered areas or the city streets during the day. However, overnight parking is not allowed in either area. Evening guests can park in the university permit areas from 7pm-2am. If space is available, a daily visitor parking permit can be issued at the cost of the daily rate.

 

• Students having overnight guests can call in the visitor's vehicle to Lot Q after 7pm. This allows the visitor to use the lot until 7am the following day.

 

Visitors/Guests to Faculty & Staff

• Departments can register visitors/guests in a permit lot, when space is available, by calling the Parking Services office to report the license plate number. Visitors/guests CANNOT be called into metered areas. 

• There are also three stalls reserved for guest lecturers on the east side of Lot X. Vehicles using these stalls MUST be called in to avoid a citation.

•Vehicles with state, municipal, and federal government plates can park in any permit area without informing Parking Services. Any vehicle with these plates parked in a metered area MUST plug the meter.
