Students nominate UWSP faculty members to Whos Who Among Americas Teachers
Students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have nominated 10 UWSP faculty members to appear in the 1998 edition of "Whos Who Among Americas Teachers."
"There is no greater reward for a teacher than to be given recognition from ones own students," said Chancellor Tom George. "The faculty singled out in this prestigious publication reflect the depth and commitment to teaching excellence in all four of our colleges."
The UWSP faculty listed in the 1998 "Whos Who Among Americas Teachers" include: Karyn Biasca, associate professor of paper science; William Deering, associate professor of communication; Cynthia Forster, clinical assistant professor for communicative disorders; Patricia Gasque, lecturer in biology and chemistry; John Houghton, associate professor of forestry; Andrea Splittberger-Rosen, professor of music; Robert Rosen, associate professor of music; Donald Showalter, professor of chemistry; Leslie Wilson, associate professor of education; and Charles Young, associate professor of music and coordinator of music theory.
Approximately 130,000 teachers were selected by one or more former students who themselves were listed on "The National Deans List." Both publications are published by Educational Communications, Inc. of Lake Forest, Ill. Educational Communications is a member of the National School Public Relations Association, the American Association of School Administration, American Library Association, Educational Press Association and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
