Definition:  Aquaculture is the discipline that studies the culture of finfish, methods of production, environmental and ecological manipulation and assessment, selective breeding, nutrition, diseases, processing, marketing and operating of culture facilities. The importance of aquaculture has increased as natural stocks of fish have declined and human consumption has continued to rise.

Aquaculture/Fish Culture Minor
Consists of 27 credits including:

  1. Required, 17 credits: Biology 374; Biology 375 or Water 481; Biology/Water 386; Water 480; Business 320.

  2. Electives, at least 10 credits from: Biology 333, 362, 499; Biology/Water 338, 361; Water 387, 494, 496; Waste Mgmt 488 or Wildlife 360; Wildlife 322; Business 322.
