Cindy Cate, education, attended the SMART Board Technology for the K-12 Classroom Level I Workshop in Milwaukee.

Leslie McClain, education, presented “Cherishing the Heart of Education:  Cultivating Wisdom and Compassion in Schooling Culture” at the Schooling Tibetan Children Multi-Nationally Conference at the University of California: Irvine in Santa Ana, Calif. McClain co-presented with a colleague from the University of Arizona, “Wisdom and Compassion in Democratic Leadership:  Perceptions of the Bodhisattva Ideal” at the European Conference on Educational Research in Vienna, Austria,

Barbara Mihm, business and economics, had her research, Using A Wiki as a Group Communications Tool,” published in the American Journal of Business Education, Volume 2 Number 4. The work was a result of the UW System Intercampus Communities of Practice Grant for the development of curriculum that involves technology for millennium students in which our campus participated.

Lisa Bardon, education,  presented “I Used to be a Good Mom” and “Addressing Student Mental Health Needs in our Culturally Diverse Schools:  Lessons Learned from State Initiatives” at the Minnesota Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference in Duluth, Minn.

Christine Gould, education, presented “Stakeholder Perceptions of Teacher Characteristics:  A Focus Group Approach” and “Developing a State Level Licensure Program:  First Steps,” at the 18th Biennial Conference on Gifted and Talented Children in Vancouver, Canada. Gould and colleagues from UW-Whitewater co-presented “Teaching Gifted Students in Wisconsin:  Needs Assessment Results and Collaboration Activities” at the  Wisconsin Research Seminar on Improving Educator Quality in Wisconsin Dells.

Kym Buchanan, education, presented "Increasing Authenticity and Ownership with an Experimental Course Management System" at the Lilly Conference on College and University Teaching and Learning in Traverse City, Mich.
