UWSP students sponsor Tsunami relief events beginning Feb. 4
Students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) are doing their part to help tsunami relief efforts now underway in South Asia.
The events begin tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 4, and end Tuesday, Feb. 22. Sponsors of the events are listed below, as are area businesses making in-kind contributions to this effort. Donations will be divided equally and distributed to the Red Cross, Oxfam and UMCOR, international relief groups. For more information on these events, please contact the University Center�s Information Desk at 715-346-4242.
Friday, Feb. 4: Movie Night: "Team America" at the UC Laird Room, 7 p.m.
movie is free--$5 donation for pizza, cookies during the show
Saturday, Feb. 5 Dodgeball Tournament:
UWSP Health Enhancement Center Multi-Activity Center (MAC),
noon � 4 p.m.
room for 16 teams of five people
*prizes awarded and $5 team entry fee goes to tsunami relief
Donation tables at evening basketball and hockey games
Sunday, Feb. 6 Tentative Superbowl Party at UC Encore (call information desk to verify)
5:30 p.m.
bring a donation and enjoy free food while watching the game
Sunday: Feb. 20: Chinese Lantern Festival at UC�s Alumni Room, 5:30 p.m.
all profits from the "silent auction" go to tsunami relief
Tuesday: Feb. 22: Krispy Kreme Donut Sale at UC Concourse, 10 a.m. � 3 p.m.
five percent of the profits to tsunami relief
